April 1999- Right now the United States seems to think that they some how became the "police" of the world. We are using our authority to prevent evil. Is it Really our job? We seem to think so. But Why?Perhaps somebody has to do it, but many people involved really think we should keep out. The United States says that the Kosovans are being brainwashed by govenment Propaganda. Perhaps this news is Propaganda itself.
Everyone I talk to on the subject seems to think that we should'nt involve ground troops. Why? If no one feels that strong about it why go to war? Nobody wants to sacrifice our own troops, but it's okay to murder innocent people in another country. So its alright if we kill everyone in their country, but if we lose three soldiers to be POW's, everyone seems to think that they're the evil ones. Who's killing who people? Even if the Ethnic Albanians are being killed, it seems to me that no one can talk the other side into peace. Sadam has signed several peace treatys or whatever you want to call them but they don't stick. Of the few treaties that I know about none seem to have came into existence without a previous war. We aren't very good police if we prevent countries from killing there own citizens by killing them first.
April 1999- There has been an incident in Littleton Colorado, perhaps you have heard about it. Many School children were shot down on Hitler's Birthday at Columbine High School. I know that the journalists do a good job at bringing our attention to this matter and raising awareness about such events, but perhaps they get a little too involved. A memorial service was held and later broadcast on the news. Now in my oppinion I do believe that if you are not at the funeral, it is probably none of your business to see who is crying and who isn't. When I die, I can't say that I wan't any media there. The greiving are already uncomfortable, but then they put them on the camera. The journalists also make it tough on the whole city. I've never been to Littleton, but I have a freind who's father lived in the city where the first of these school shootings occured. As I understand it was a media circus, no one could get through on the phone because all the lines were tied up by the Journalists. It seems like its no news or bad news nowadays. Every newscast has its little "good news" segment but it really doesn't seem to have as much of an impact or as much airtime. Well maybe you say it is their job. I say all they do is create chaos for our society.
These are my oppinions and they are Subject to interpretation and constructive criticism.
I WILL SOON ADD MORE TO THE LIST AS THEY COME UP, I'M JUST STARTING THIS PAGE.
